I will give the deer hunters a few weeks before I set my long lines. Now here around the house I may set a couple to thin out some coyotes.

trap a few coons off uncles feeders.  then thanksgiving weekend, bait every cubbie i got!  about 31 built/ set right now... and growing.. with fresh/ beaver and old deer meat ruined from a freezer that died..  ..

also chickens slaughtered...  Smiley  the works..    wait a week, DEC 1,  start hooking up quik links and sifting...

setting 145 land, and 38 floating water sets this yr, b4 christmas.   AND every coni i got....  about 42 right now...

hoping for a bumper, cat season!       been scouting, and baiting areas for 2 yrs...  hoping for this yr to be paydirt..

at any rate, it will sure be fun..  Smiley       got a 14 yr old new deer hunter that wants to fill 6 tags in 1 week, he says... SmileySmileySmiley    If he does, i will break him of that with a skinning/ boning knife and the ziploc bags.. Smiley

SURE loving this 41 degree night tonite!

I will be waiting till dec 1, I have to take care of the timber companies right now, however I do have 4 dozen stakes with quick links and swivels already driven.
rather you get it from me or any other supplier, you need to try the 3" auger bit on a half inch cordless drill. it turns hard ground into worm dirt.
I used it Tuesday to remove some duckbill stakes, just drilled down and pulled up.

I should have 100 sets ready for day one or sooner on the lease if everyone keeps at me.

good luck to all, if you get a chance show someone how to trap.

Naw, I don't count the Christmas days, very few hunt it anyway.   My main reason for waiting is I only trap Forest Service land.

I may set a few yote sets before Thanksgiving, but Thanksgiving is my kick-off weekend for the season.
