The regs say

" anyone purchasing or reselling furbearer pelts or carcasses is required to have a fur dealer permit and complete the fur dealer report daily."

Does this mean if your to sell coon to a meat market you must have this permit? Or does it pertain to in the round critters?

This part of the regulation is for those who are in the fur business...if your buying fur to resell then yes you need the permit and are required to fill out the report...

SELLING (not reselling) furs and meat is not 'purchasing or reselling'

17.07 FUR PURCHASING AND SELLING RESTRICTIONS

04-13
It is unlawful for any person to buy or resell pelts or furbearer carcasses without the appropriate (resident or non-resident) fur dealer license for each individual buyer or separate place of business. The purchase of pelts or furbearer carcasses from May 1- June 30 is prohibited.
EXCEPTIONS:
(2) Arkansas residents purchasing tanned pelts, taxidermy mounts or whole carcasses of legally taken furbearers for personal use.

Stay with it...the time you spend in the regs is not wasted.

Now if you really want a challenge...wrap your head around the commercial fishing regs... Doh!

Talk about micro-managing a resource...commercial fishing is almost as bad as the deer regulations...

I wonder how many people actually realize that Arkansas has 29 separate deer hunting zones... Doh!

If the meat market is going to sell the carcasses that you sold them, then they would need the permit, but thats their problem.

Its not your personal use if you sell it to someone else after buying it from the guy who caught it.  That is where "reselling" comes in...
