I do not like having to post this.  Below is from Todd, Vettie's son.  I know I will miss this man but I am so thankful I was able to visit him on Petit Jean just a couple of weeks ago.  Please pray for Sue and the kids.  Vettie, we will see you again.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the prayers for my Dad (Vettie Waller). Just wanted to let let all of our family and friends out there in the social media world that arrangements have been made for the viewing to be at Young's Funeral Home from 5-7 on Tuesday and the service will be held at Wyatt Baptist Church at 2 Wednesday.

I am sorry for those closest to him and sorry that we as a community have lost a true treasure.

Prayers for Vettie's family.  I am greatful to have been able to visit with him at Petit Jean. He told me about setting real close to the La. line and luring those La. amimals across the state line. Quite a guy. He will be missed greatly.

Just last night me and my wife were discussing whether or not you can trap in heaven. Well if you couldn't before we will now an ole timer like Vettie will be there waiting on us in the great hunting grounds of beyond.
May his soul rest in peace and his family rest assured a fine man like Vettie now has a special place in Heaven.

Sadly missing my friend Vettie.   i remember the first time i met him at Russelville with my son joseph.  he was only 7 at the time, with his first batch of furs, and vettie looked em over and told him " those look like some fine furs, boy..  Smiley  "    ever since then i have seen him at events w the ATA, and he always greeted me with a smile, and a good solid handshake.   A great man, and I will miss my friend...    Sure Glad he is in Heaven so i can see him again, someday..

My sincere condolences to the family for your loss,.  my prayers are with you ..

Carolyn Sue ask me to see if I could get a count on how many trappers are coming to the service tomorrow. They are reserving a section for the trappers and would like to have an idea how many seats might be needed.                     Thank you;   Charlotte Watson    870-554-2376

Daddy said he had a big crowd at his funeral today.  I know I'll miss sitting with him in the motel parking lot drinking coffee and smoking cigars.  He was a good one.

It was a great service, lots of friends and family. Beautiful song written to him by his kids. Did you know how he got the name Vettie? His son Todd told us that he was named after a full blooded Italian man that save Vettie's dad in WW2. Apparently he has step on a land mine on Normandy Beach and this Italian Vettie, threw him off saving Vettie's dad but sacrificing his own life. That's a heck of a story.      As much as I'll miss our mornings a Jolley's, I'm envious of where you are now!
