Districts Planning Committee Meeting

The following District Organizational Points will be presented to the Board of Directors for their consideration:

1.    ATA Members are free to join the Chapter/Chapters of their choice.

2.    ATA Members can only vote in the District in which they reside for matters of ATA business.

3.   There will be two District Representatives/Directors (primary & alternate).  
         a.   They will each serve two year terms.
         b.   Primary directors will be elected on even numbered years and alternates on odd numbered years.
         c.   District Representatives may be appointed initially by the ATA President from volunteers then elected by Active ATA members within a district in the future.
         d.   Chapters will no longer have a representative to the Board of Directors except when elected as a District Representative.

4.   District Representatives/Directors primary responsibilities will be
        a.   Voting member of the ATA Governing Board
        b.   Serve as a conduit between the ATA Governing Board and ATA members
        c.   Aid or assist in organizing new chapters and increasing ATA memberships

5.    At least two (2) district meetings will be held each year.
         a.   One District meeting No Later Than (NLT) 30 days prior to the ATA Spring Directors meeting
         b.   Another District meeting NLT 30 days prior to the ATA Convention Directors meeting
         c.   Additional meetings will be held at the discretion of the district directors
         d.   Only Active ATA members will participate in the voting on matters of ATA business

6.    Nine (9) districts will be established using the county borders as shown in the following illustration -
