Mr . Crandall, in my limited experience, bobcats & otter can be frozen whole unskinned & sold at the state trapper’s auction or some local buyers & surprisingly bring a better price than some that are put up on stretchers & all the work involved with that.
2  Trapping / Water Trapping / Re: Beaver Bounties—-Do They Work? on: December 24, 2019, 10:10:19 PM
I did some beaver trapping in Pulaski county & the lady in charge said they never run out of money. It’s only $ 10 a tail, but an extra roughly $250  at my disposal means more traps or supplies. That $10 is well more than the green skinned fur. When you factor in being paid for catching the critter & castor roughly $5 / oz , beaver are definitely worth going after unless you have to hand carry all you steel a long way through rough terrain.
3  Trapping / General Trapping / New hunting & trapping regulations for fur bearers passed today on: July 26, 2019, 12:17:22 PM
The AGFC passed new regulations today on hunting & trapping certain fur bearers on Private Land year round . They will have special license or permit that will be available I believe they said in August & available online. You can view the meeting today on YouTube.
4  News and Announcements / Trapper Talk / Re: Delisting the wolf from endangered species & it’s political impact on trapping on: July 18, 2019, 09:53:24 PM
Interesting that today I found an old article in the Sept/Oct  2017 issue of Trapper’s Post ,where they discuss how the anti trapping/hunting community mentioned in Clint’s YouTube above, are trying to label the Eastern Coyote as a distinct species of wolf they call the Coywolf & could qualify for protection under the Endangered Species Act.  You never know what clever way the “anti group” will try and attack your recreation/livelihood life style.
5  News and Announcements / Trapper Talk / Delisting the wolf from endangered species & it’s political impact on trapping on: July 17, 2019, 09:44:15 PM
About 4 hours ago , Clint Locklear posted on his YouTube  “Wolfernation” about filling out a very easy message to Pres Trump, the secretary of the interior, & our congressional leader that will affect us trappers in the future. Please view this video & go to the website   ,biggameforever.org   & complete the message as directed. It takes about 3 min  & Clint’s video is about 10 min.  If you cherish your trapping, use this as a message to our law makers.

I would be interested, just have to give me an idea about what that would involve since I have never been to one. Had planned on going to event in Springfield this past week but had to stay in town for a memorial service for life long friend. Anybody willing to post a summary of how the event went & comments on any particular bargains on trapping equipment or trapping educational discussions or new tid bits to try a specific sets ? Also any guesstimate on attendance.

Sorry for your misfortune! Hopefully everyone was OK ,everything else can be repacked at some point. Hope all your traps escaped as well.
Don’t know where to post this question, but do you know any beaver trappers that work over about 20 miles East of Newport & what their beaver bounty is in Poinsett County ?
10  Trapping / Water Trapping / Re: Beaver Bounty on: May 17, 2019, 02:57:09 PM
Not sure how much of an incentive it is for trappers here in Pulaski County but the lady assured me they would never run out of money here . They pay $10 per tail.I think some counties here in the state pay as much as $30 each & I bet they do deplete  that fund.

My favorite on those small dam breaks are footholds  that are set up as drowners on 1/2 or 5/8 rebar . I use MB550’s for front foot catches & they work great.
