Title: Bucket snare
Post by: Hookedontrapping on October 23, 2019, 09:59:22 AM
I have been thinking about running some buckets for coon, but the dogs around me will probably be an issue. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried hanging a snare in a bucket for coon. If so how.

I'm far from an expert, and I've never ran snares in a bucket, but I would think that a snare in a bucket wouldn't have enough run room for the coon to get caught, unless it's more of a tunnel setup.

I believe youíll have best results with some sort of walk through type set where the animal is in forward motion.  Rather than a bucket set, you may want to consider a cubby type set or a walkthrough baited/lured snare setup.

Whatever you decide, please let us know what you decided to try and how it worked out for you...

Good luck,
