most likely, bob and I spoke on it while at the fur sale, may have some drinks too.

Still looking for a few demonstrators.
If anyone is a crack boat mechanic, I’m talking pounding rain, 20miles from the ramp, nothing but bubble gum and duck tape maybe a chicken bone, get you back safe and sound mechanic. I’d really like to bribe you into doing a demo. If you know this person.....lemme know.

Travis is always raising money for the ATA and he has an idea to raise some money. We will be asking for donations at the Spring Convention to help him reach a goal of $100 or more, the president of the ATA will take a pie in the face. We may even raffle off the chance for you to do the honors. Pics will be provided...I'm sure. Contact Travis at (479) 459-1634 to get more info.

We are going to have the usual women’s skillet toss, so bring your champion and win big!!!
We will TRY and have a beaver toss for the men, I believe I have a beaver dead weight we can toss around.
Can’t throw a beaver and too hairy to throw a skillet???
It was suggested we have a trap tool contest, if you’ve created a tool you use for trapping, bring it we’ll get a few judges and have a prize for the best. Expect others to borrow your ideas
“ dont bring something you plan to patent soon”

And I'm taking a pie in the face at this convention.  Will you be the lucky one who does it?

Sounds like a plan!

If you would, please bring a side dish and we will have a pot luck. Just like we do at the Fall Convention. Pass the word. Thanks!

Have a nice bench vice for the winner of the tool contest
Some cast iron for the skillet toss champion
I’ll probably pick up a couple of beaver traps for the winner of the beaver pitching.

Don't forget to bring a side dish and practice your pie in the face technique.  You may be the one who does the tasty deed.

I, along with all officers of the Arkansas Trappers Association, want to thank everyone who attended our Spring Convention today.  I also want to thank all the guys who did the demos.  We don't pay those guys.  They do it for the love of the association and to help you become a better trapper.  We have a lot of fun and we make a little money for the association.  We are always working for you and you can't imagine how much we appreciate your support.

Many thanks to Travis Jerden and James Taylor for making the convention a great one.  Tip of the hat. boys!

Recently the ATA, thanks to Eric Kindsfater, suggested to the AGFC to use viscera free bone as an attractor.   It has now been approved and in the code.  Thanks to Eric for bringing it to our attention so we can help get regulations changed in favor of the trapper.
