We need to make sure none of our furbearers are on this list.

When I requested info, Blake sent me the following:

"This list was compiled as part of a program that the US Fish and Wildlife Service started 10+ years ago as a way to provide funding in hopes of keeping species off the federal endangered species list.  AGFC and many of our partners developed a plan that is available here that lists them all: http://www.wildlifearkansas.com/strategy.html

Being on this list has no regulatory impact.  The badger, spotted skunk, and weasel are on Arkansas's list and it is currently funding a project to study spotted skunk habitat use in the Ozarks and funded a weasel survey that finished last year.  Frankly, this bill would be absolutely wonderful for Arkansas wildlife as it would probably provide 10-20 times more funding for nongame species than we currently get and would make it much more possible to keep what are now rare species from becoming endangered."
